  2. That’s One Long Ass Left

While looking for homes in Leucadia, we came a cross a beach lookout where a wave was breaking that didn’t seem to have an end. No one was surfing it, which makes me thing that there was something dangerous preventing folks from trying. It’s a shame, it sure was pretty.

  3. Some Remote Coworking Action w/ @KimPerkins

For now, we’re parking at a Marriott Courtyard while we look for a home in San Diego. Big thanks to Todd for hooking us up. All those years working together on Marriott’s marketing strategies, and I’m finally enjoying their rooms.

They sure are nice, but I’m looking forward to finding a home.

  4. Yeah that pretty much sums it up.

  5. Living Water, A Benefit Event To Charity Water

Every time I wake up during the night to get a glass of cold, delicious ice water – I have a depressing and recurring thought. That while I can drink all the water I want, there are people on this world that cannot. There are people in this world that look at a cold glass of drinking water the way you and I would look at a new iPad – like a luxury.

Thankfully there are organizations like Charity Water that are chipping away at the problem by providing clean water to developing nations. Their site states that their efforts have reached over 2,000,000 people with clean drinking water.

So make Jerry Maguire proud and help us – help them.

Join us this Saturday (flyer above) as we get together to listen to live music and view some spectacular local and national “water” photography. It’s only $5 (although you are more than welcome to donate more) and you may even win one of the pieces on the display.

I’m no pro but I donated six of my favorite “water” photographs for this great cause below. I hope to see you guys there!

  6. The Last One Out

This week has been busy – but a good busy. Nevertheless, it’s why I ended up being the last one out.

Up until tonight, I didn’t get to enjoy some of the biggest swell that hit the south shore in 10 years. I saw it on TV and on the web – and Kimmy even snapped some shots at Bowls (see above) – but I didn’t get a chance to get near it myself.

I finally made it out to the water today – it was half a stormy sky with a mix of sunset colors and dark grays. The waves were still coming, not as big as the last couple of days – but plenty big still.

The crowd was reasonable – people were catching waves all over. My first one brought me within about 20 feet of the Royal Hawaiian, trust me it’s a very long (and very fun ride). The paddle back was exhausting and I ended up doing it four times.

Every ride was big – and it seemed to last forever. I caught it late, but I was still happy I caught it at all.

So happy in fact I stayed until that half crecent shaped moon that looked like it was smiling at me – was way over the top of my head. I paddled for one last one and called it a night.

I ended up being the last one out.

  7. Speaking of huge waves… these make the ones I posted below look like a joke. Teahupoo in Tahiti may be the heaviest wave I’ve ever seen.

  8. The south swell of Hawaii hasn’t been this big in years. I look forward to seeing it for myself tomorrow morning…
